Rodney Kaylor- director
Rodney Kaylor graduated from Surrey High School in 1967 and Minot State College in 1971. He obtained a degree in Business Education with a minor in Physical Education, with a concentration in Office Education, Driver's Education, and Health.
He married Sharon Miller, his high school sweetheart, on July 10, 1971. Together they raised three boys; Scott, Shawn and Jerard (JR).
Rodney taught high school in Donnybrook, North Dakota from 1971 until 1974. At that time, the Kaylor's moved north of Velva where Rodney began his farming career by renting the Jerry Harness farm. In addition to that, Rodney took over the family farm upon his father's retirement.
For 12 years, Rodney served on the Velva School Board, nine of which were as chairman. Other service includes member of the Oak Valley Church Council, member of the Greater Velva Lutheran Parish Board and past president of the Minot Shrine Club Board. He currently works as Tax Assessor for North Prairie, Hendrickson, and Surrey Townships and works part-time and the McHenry County Tax Equalization Office.
In his spare time he is a member of the Granville Masonic Lodge; Ashlar Lodge #69; Order of the Eastern Star, Granville, ND; Scottish Rite, Minot, ND; KEM Temple, Grand Forks, ND; and he is a life member of Minot Shrine Club. His hobbies include hunting and fishing.
