David Thom - secretary

David Thom graduated from Velva High School in 1970. He then attended NDSU for two years. In 1973 he married Bonnie Batke from Velva. Bonnie also attended NDSU and graduated with a degree in Pharmacy.

The two moved back to the Velva area in the fall of 1974. David began farming his uncle's land in the spring of 1975. In 1987 he took over his father's farm and now farms that land in addition to his uncle's. He and his wife raised three kids, Megan, Kendra and Nolan. David and Bonnie continue to farm in the Velva area. Bonnie and Megan are co-owners of Velva Drug. Kendra works for Social Services in Grand Forks. She is married and has one child; Dylan. Nolan works for Nova Fire Protection. He is married and has two children; Chase and Ashtin.

David has served on several boards over the year including the Northern Tier Credit Union Board, the McHenry County Farmers Union Board, Dakota Agronomy Board, Oak Valley Lutheran Church Council, Velva Rural Fire Department Board, his township board. His hobbies include playing guitar and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren.
